The famous tumor disease in the population is stomach cancer, which can also be referred to as gastric carcinoma and is defined as cancer in the stomach. Gastric cancer is relatively common, but the number of people suffering from Western diseases has declined largely in recent years. Stomach cancer is usually caused by a high-nitrosamine diet, which consumes foods such as beer, cured meats, cheese or fish rich in nitrosamines. But even chronic infection with the bacteria Helicobacter pylori, which likes to settle in the stomach, is a major risk factor for the development of stomach cancer.
Gastric cancer is very common as a human disease because it is the second most common tumor in the world. Especially in the countries of China, Japan, Russia, Bulgaria, Colombia, Chile and Portugal, most people suffer from stomach cancer. Here, the risk of gastric cancer is 4 to 6 times higher than in countries where the disease is rare. In Germany, the rate of stomach cancer is not so high, because stomach cancer accounts for only about 5% of all tumor diseases here. It has been scientifically proven that men are twice as likely to have dangerous stomach cancer as women.
Stomach cancer causes
As already demonstrated in the introduction, very different causes are responsible for the development of stomach cancer. A very common risk factor for gastric cancer is a bacterial infection of Helicobacter pylori, which can enter a person’s stomach through a particular diet. These bacteria are very dangerous and are a cause of stomach cancer because they can stay optimally in the stomach because they are resistant to stomach acid and are not killed with this. Helicobacter pylori bacteria also promote gastric cancer, as they promote the development of gastric ulcers. These ulcers increase the risk of developing stomach cancer by a factor of five to six.
Not all infections caused by these bacteria in the stomach definitely cause stomach cancer, but Helicobacter pylori-like the development of cancer. In addition to Helicobacter pylori bacteria is also a diet in which a person consumes nitrite and nitrate too much because the development of stomach cancer is very useful. Nitrates and nitrites, which have a positive effect on the development of cancer, are very common in canned foods and inadequately prepared drinking water. Similarly, smoking is a highly relevant risk factor for cancer formation in the stomach. However, it is not known here why smokers are very frequent stomach cancer. There are many other factors associated with patients that can trigger stomach cancer.
If the patient has chronic gastritis, the level of acidity in the abdomen is permanently lowered and may further overcome the Helicobacter pylori bacteria in the patient’s stomach and thus favor stomach cancer. If you have gastric mucosal inflammation for a long time, a strange phenomenon occurs in the stomach: a strong gastric mucosa is replaced by a mucous membrane that resembles the intestinal mucosa due to the acidity of the acid in the stomach. Again, the development of stomach cancer is promoted. Another cause of stomach cancer is the presence of ulcers in the stomach, which can develop into stomach cancer. Not every gastric ulcer automatically becomes the cornerstone of stomach cancer, but the risk of developing cancer from ulcers in the abdomen is greatly increased.
In many gastric ulcers, which are not healed and chronically conditioned, there is still a danger that behind this unknown disease of the stomach is hidden and the patient remains unaware of their existence and internally thrives in ever-increasing threats. Even now, more research is being done to find out the causes and risk factors behind the development of stomach cancer and how to counter it. For this purpose, various subjects are selected and their lifestyle and eating habits are studied appropriately so that they can find the root of the development of various types of cancer such as stomach cancer.
